Kohler Factory School

Whether you are a relatively new technician just getting familiar with KOHLER engines, or an experienced mechanic ready to go on to the next level, attending a Kohler Factory School can be a valuable part of your professional development.

Level I and Level II classes are offered several times each year. Classes are filled on a first come, first served basis.

Kohler now offers Level I schools in multiple locations around the US. Please email us for information on attending a specific date and location.

Level I

The Level I course is designed to provide students with a working knowledge of KOHLER air-cooled four-cycle engines and engine systems. It is assumed the students will have a basic understanding of small gasoline engines upon enrolling in the class. Information covered will include:

  • Using Kohler PLUS
  • Use of Measuring Instruments
  • Electrical/Ignition Theory
  • Warranty Information
  • Troubleshooting
  • Engine Tear Down/Reassembly
  • Failure Analysis
  • Fuel Systems

The Level II course is designed for students who have completed a Level I course or have passed the Kohler certification test. Class size is smaller to allow for more one-on-one instruction and hands-on activities. Information covered will include:

  • Electrical Systems - Ignition, Starting, Charging
  • Fuel Systems - Gasoline, EFI, Gaseous
  • Advanced Failure Analysis
  • Tear Down and Reassembly Procedures
  • Hands-On Diagnosis and Troubleshooting in a Variety of Areas
